Our Story

Hello, I’m Joël, founder of The Good Span.

I nearly died at 29. That experience changed how I see life. What matters isn’t just how long we live, but what we do, feel and share along the way.

Health matters, but so do curiosity, relationships, pleasure, purpose and discovery.

I created The Good Span to help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I’d be delighted to welcome you.

Longevity should add to life.

We think about the years ahead because of what they can hold: time with the people you love, things you still want to learn, places you’d like to see. Our practices are designed to fit into your everyday life, so looking after your health leaves you more room for all of that.

Personal guidance, supported by technology.

We want personalised longevity to be within reach for more people, and technology helps us do that. A good recommendation still starts with getting to know you: what you care about, what you enjoy, how full your life is and what you feel ready to change.

That’s why every member has a Pilot who listens before advising, respects your choices and knows when to bring in a specialist.

Meet your Pilot.

Every Good Span comes with a person who knows you. Your Pilot is a trained human longevity guide who takes the time to understand what you enjoy, what fills your week and what you’d love more time and energy for.

They listen before they advise, respect your choices and help you find practices that fit the life you already have. When something isn’t working, they help you change it, and when a question needs deeper expertise, they bring in the right specialist.

For your six months, and every Good Span after that, they’re the person in your corner.

The people behind The Good Span

We’re a small team in Lisbon, here to help you live more years that matter.

    Joël

    Founder

Joël believes a long life is only as good as what you fill it with: the people you love, the things that make you curious and a sense of purpose. He founded The Good Span so that looking after your health becomes part of a full life, shared with others.

    Beatriz

    Operations Coordinator

Born in Porto and raised in Dubai, Beatriz is a psychology graduate finishing her Master’s in Psychology in Business and Economics. Fascinated by how habits stick when people build them together, she keeps The Good Span running day to day.

We believe we age better together.

Some of the best parts of life are shared: a walk with a friend, discovering something new with someone, or simply having someone to talk to. That company brings pleasure and support to everyday life, so The Good Span brings members together around shared interests, including a curiosity about living well.

Born in Lisbon, open to members across Europe.

Lisbon inspires us with its outdoor life, shared tables and people seeking a more balanced way of living.

That way of life shapes The Good Span: practical habits, human guidance and meaningful connections, with room for curiosity, pleasure and discovery.

From Lisbon, The Good Span is growing across Europe. Members connect online today, and we’re adding more local gatherings, partnerships and experiences in more places.
